God’s funny.
When I first got clean I was living very close to some cranberry bogs. One of these days I decided to take a walk.
I was walking around one of the bogs when all of a sudden I thought I saw a pterodactyl dinosaur flying very low and about 10 feet away from me.
The wing span on this animal, the color, the massiveness of it was unbelievable to me!
Fresh out of rehab and being born again so to speak….you can imagine the surprise, the delight, and the terror all at once.
I got clean at the age of 35 and in all of those years I had never encountered a Great Blue Heron. Gods divine timing waited until I was about 2 months sober and I could REALLY appreciate this amazing bird.
Today I see them often and I still appreciate that moment when I was so new back into this world that I actually thought there was a dinosaur flying around my town.
That’s a funny and encouraging story.π I can relate to the surprise of seeing giant birds. We moved to Florida last year, and there are all kinds of huge birds down here. It’s hilarious to see them walking and flying around. Those herons are especially big! Great story, God bless!

Lol, that is just magic dear lady. It was the most profound thing for me when I ‘broke through’ and began that rebirth. The things that I could now ‘see’ were astounding. But I never did get a dinosaur though, you must be special π€£ π π½ β€οΈ π π ππ½ π π¦ π βοΈ π

Geoff I read your posts (they are funny ) but I do not know how to “like” them….is there no button or am I missing it?

I have this issue on several Blogs I follow. I see others can “like” and I cannot. I did not realize that was happening to some people on my site. I always re-sign into my site when asked. It is frustrating and I have not mentioned it to sites I cannot like. Thank you for telling me. Now you are in a great position because I will assume you like my posts!π

I think the same thing every time I see a heron. Who knows, they might very well be descendants!

Wow, I’ve never seen a big bird in real life except in a zoo. I guess a lot of other people are like me too in this aspect. No wonder you felt what you felt. It is totally understandable.

If ever I die, I want to come back a Peregrine falcon. Or at least a red-tailed hawk. Watched red tails fly in heady winds. Knew they were flying just because the could fly and it was fun. Only bird I’d accuse of doing so. There’s a life lesson there. Just in your cranberry bog. Keep-on keepin-on.

I now live on a golf course and the red tailed hawks are my favorite!!! They are all over here and I connect with them the most these days! I’ll post a pic someday for you. There are a few I see often.
