Intuition…a curse? 9/22

Entering into recovery and learning about myself more and more I have come to understand a little bit about intuition.

The first thing I have learned is that intuition is for the “individual”. My feeling, message or guidance on something is “tailor made” for me. It might be very different for you about the same exact topic.

I have ignored my intuition many times. And I have paid the price.

Or I will discuss the intuitive thought with the others (well meaning loved ones) and they feel completely different about the topic. Then my own knowing gets foggy and unclear.

And then there is the most frequent of occurrences with me….and it’s the one where I JUST DONT EVEN WANT TO KNOW!

But once you know something you can’t unknow it – ha ha.

“Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.” – But what about when you “feel” it?

I am a true addict living my life one day at a time in recovery. I have been substance free -meaning NO drugs or alcohol since 5/23/10. My intention is to share my experiences daily in the hopes to free others from the fears of being who they truly are. My wish is to bravely tell my truth so others can tell theirs as well. I want to be free of self hatred and doubt. I want to live a life of joy, kindness, love and grace. Thank you!

  1. It is a gift dear lady, a very profound one. It asked me to ‘see’ in another way, and because it can be a very personal touch, for me or others, I had to learn to stand in that love…by treating everyone as I would myself. Not the fearful self but the self that gradually see’s that truth within as we understand our fear. And as I learnt to stand in that place I slowly became another person, one that could see in others of what I did see within myself. I see pain in another’s eyes, I see hope, I see fear, I see gladness…all because I dared look at myself. And Spirit…that was a gift that we will all touch, ready and waiting as we dare to understand and open our hearts, in whatever way our hearts are aimed. Enjoy the journey my beautiful friend…once touched we ‘know’ we are in God’s love and care ❤️🙏🏽

    1. As I experience the unconditional more and more and I see the layers of conditions in myself and others. I do joke that intuition is a curse…I understand it is a gift…one that I might just shy away from – from time to time out of old habit or a fearful condition. This is just another piece to the puzzle of the love ❤️ as you know 💜❤️💜thank you Mark🙏

  2. Malcolm Gladwell wrote a book called “Blink” about intuition. It’s really good. The idea that often intuitive judgments are better and faster than analysis paralysis.

      1. Ahhh thanks🤠🤣!

It’s a good read. “Outliers” is good too. Read both several years ago. I only read fiction now.

  3. LOL – I remember the FIRST time I thought, ‘well, great! I can’t ‘not know that perspective/way of looking at things now! But (sob!) that opens up EVEN more WORK for me to do on meself!!! I whined about this during a counseling session with an employee assistance counselor, regarding ‘They send me to training to learn process improvement via real data but now? I put that training to use, and they want me to stop and forget I learned any of that – cuz it doesn’t serve what they want to do – WHY? Its not like I can forget I ever learned to look at operations this way….”

Sigh – I so empathize, sympathize, on some levels of my own, with your ‘um….but once ya know it, how do ya unknow it?”

Same gal told me, many years later, “yeah – that’s the sucky part – some doors in life only swing one way and once ya walk through ’em, there is no going back to ‘what was before’ – not you, your worldview, etc., ya just can’t go back – ”

    Which, I still find sad, overall – I always really hoped time travel forward/backward was TRUE – thus far? Sigh – not – – – 😀 ❤
