Silly but I’ll share it 1/26

So I think this might fall into the superstitious category.

We all know the common ones like a broken mirror is 7 years bad luck, a black cat crossing your path, death comes in threes or not to walk under a ladder.

Sports players won’t shave their beards or cut their hair when they are in the midst of a winning streak.

My odd behavior has to do with my socks.

If I have had a bad day I throw out the socks I am wearing.

I feel like the energy of that day somehow settles in my socks and then I can just get rid of it.

Ha! Whatever it takes I guess.

As long as I don’t pick up a substance I can handle things – even if it’s in a silly way.

I am a true addict living my life one day at a time in recovery. I have been substance free -meaning NO drugs or alcohol since 5/23/10. My intention is to share my experiences daily in the hopes to free others from the fears of being who they truly are. My wish is to bravely tell my truth so others can tell theirs as well. I want to be free of self hatred and doubt. I want to live a life of joy, kindness, love and grace. Thank you!

  1. Who can handle it? I understand wanting to reset the day. Perhaps a prayer would do the same thing while keeping you on your goal of giving up control and letting God work in you? Just a thought. I used many innocent substitutions over the years but realized I was still trying to make it better, easier myself, still had that ego up and glint in my eye, a dangerous position. I got this, I can fix it. Socks is no big deal if the motivation is right. Only you and God know that. God has you. He is enough. You are amazing!😃❤️

    1. I completely get it Tonya…baby steps over here ha ha! I definitely still try to control things when I know gods really the strength to be leaned on.
These are all awarenesses including the socks that I am coming to realize. I can feel when I am trying to control even when I’m cleaning – I move the things that I can ❤️ My reliance on hp is growing more and more.
I’m not sure how long the sock thing will last – baby steps.

      1. You are an amazing person and are doing great. I know I appreciate help from loving friends, was trying to help in love. So many times a friend pointed something out to me where I was trying to control things and I sure appreciated it. Please do the same. Keep up the good work. You rock! 😃❤️

  2. It is interesting those synchronicities that happen around us. Maybe a sign, maybe a sign post, a hint of what’s to come. Spirit speaks in many ways, I try to open my heart and ‘feel’ what it asks…and push my ego out of the way too. Great post Danielle, at the least you are listening 😀❤️🙏🏽

  3. I feel Danielle that, this is a great symbology of you just getting rid of negative energy… You are just clearly stating to the Universe that you do not wish to walk in that energy again… So I think this is a great one to keep…. 🙂 For its stating very clearing you don’t wish that negative energy in your aura..
    ❤ … Big hugs xx

      1. What you resist will indeed persist. Understanding is that ‘let go’. When we understand something we let it go, purpose met, and no longer attract it. That is why we ever attract our fears, the moment we dare face them, understand them, we let them go…and that unconditional love is no longer held at bay and we become that love 😀❤️🙏🏽

Are you serious? How about I tell you now that I collect socks for the homeless, because most of them have only one old, worn pair and it’s mostly wet, because their shoes are not good either.

Dry, warm socks, the ultimate luxury! Don’t throw them out, collect them and give them to a shelter. You will be surprised how grateful they will be for the donation of gentle, worn, used socks and how many will stay in live for it.

    1. You make an excellent point and one that I will definitely consider. I share my personal experiences not to offend…but to just be open and honest. My thinking is not always rational, logical and people may not agree. But it’s my reality.
I have a disease of the mind, body and soul telling on myself has kept me clean for over 12 years.
Now my thinking about the socks is that they hold bad energy if I have had bad experiences in them and I no way would want to pass that energy on to anyone – homeless or not.
I am not saying it’s right. And up until that post I never really shared it with to many people.
I tell on myself to heal.
      Thank you for your feedback.❤️

    1. Ha! I did not throw those socks away…as the whole day was not bad – it was about 20 minutes and I actually got some clarity out of it.
A bad day was when my cat Pickles had to be put down…and the boy Clay that I nanny for broke his arm. That was a bad day! 😂❤️

  5. It makes sense about the socks. My in laws have a superstition that if a kid is lying on the ground and you cross over their body to pass by, they will stop growing and become very short.
