The friendly forest 5/25

Clay (my 5 year old charge) and myself went on a walk in a new area on Tuesday.

He brought his bike and is so proud because he no longer needs training wheels.

We found a pond and a trail through the woods. Clay practiced riding off road and I walked behind him.

We approached a tree that was hollowed out in 2 spots…with a very friendly chipmunk living inside it.

First the chipmunk was on the bottom floor of the tree and we both said hello. And then it was like he wanted to show off his house. He ran to the top floor – eye level with me and he grabbed a piece of his food and started happily munching but looking right at us.

I was talking to the little fella – saying hello and such. Clay asked me “Do you want to pet him?” I said “I do…but I don’t think chipmunks like to be pet.”

So I carried on walking and he navigating on his bike. As we were moving we talked about how friendly the animals were in this forest.

And I swear to you birds were coming abnormally close to us. It felt as if nothing was afraid or disturbed by our presence there. We saw at least 13 turtles hanging out on a log in the pond. A hawk flew threw the forest trees maybe 10ft above our heads.

Did Clay and I believe this into being…or is it really just an over friendly forest!

Either way it was such a good experience.

I am a true addict living my life one day at a time in recovery. I have been substance free -meaning NO drugs or alcohol since 5/23/10. My intention is to share my experiences daily in the hopes to free others from the fears of being who they truly are. My wish is to bravely tell my truth so others can tell theirs as well. I want to be free of self hatred and doubt. I want to live a life of joy, kindness, love and grace. Thank you!

  1. That is a big, deep question, believe into being? Jesus said he could only do miracles where there was faith. Faith is belief (of what we can’t see or understand). So… yeah. Very cool. God gave you gifts for your faith.😃❤️

  2. This is so beautiful! Thank you for taking all of us on your walk with you!! I was truly lost in the imagery and felt like I was right there in the forest. You are such a blessing to Clay… We all need people to help us see and to share with us all the love, beauty, and good in the world. You are making memories with Clay that will surely sustain him and guide him the rest of his life.

  3. They can feel God’s unconditional love coming from you both kind lady, it does not project fear but trust, does not project hatred but love. You are safe, they are safe. We are becoming that beauty we have understood…and let go in that acceptance. That is what will change the world, simply by understanding that love. If we hold nothing but acceptance…that is what we will give, and find in return. A lovely post kind lady, may life come close, always 😀❤️🙏

    1. I had an encounter with tyler this morning where when I expressed the acceptance of where he was emotionally- relief came over his face and body. Acceptance is so powerful Mark -we twist and turn and fight and say NO but until we relax into ourselves and accept…we are almost blind with fear I guess🙏❤️

      1. Exactly kind lady, we all crave that acceptance but our fears are ever on guard so that we don’t get hurt…but is ever what we give out…until we understand those fears 🙂
