On my path 5/19

The other day on my morning walk with god…I had a very interesting encounter with a hawk and 2 squirrels.

I was walking along and I heard above my head what sounded like a tree branch breaking.

As soon as I looked up a hawk flew down right in front of me – eye level- and dropped a squirrel right at my feet.

Between the massive wings of the hawk and then the squirrel…I stopped dead in my tracks.

The hawk flew away and the squirrel he dropped miraculously was ok! Not a scratch on him! He was a little stunned running around in some circles and not knowing which way to go. But he was ALIVE!

Next to me on the other side of the path was another squirrel screaming. I believe he thought his friend was a goner.

I found myself talking to that squirrel trying to calm him down. I said “Look he’s ok!! He’s ok!!”

And then some synchronicity happened later that day.

A friend I haven’t talked to in quite awhile (who had no idea about the hawk and squirrel show I witnessed that morning) sent me this meme.

I am a true addict living my life one day at a time in recovery. I have been substance free -meaning NO drugs or alcohol since 5/23/10. My intention is to share my experiences daily in the hopes to free others from the fears of being who they truly are. My wish is to bravely tell my truth so others can tell theirs as well. I want to be free of self hatred and doubt. I want to live a life of joy, kindness, love and grace. Thank you!

  1. Another example of truth being stranger than fiction. And the synchronicity with your friend is the confirmation that there is sentience in whatever has made all-that-is exist.

  2. Squirrels are wondrous magical creatures with a strong will to live.
Years ago I was walking and saw a squirrel run across the street. In a matter of seconds, a car went over the squirrel, but the squirrel somehow managed to not get hit, then another car came in the opposite direction. The squirrel, again, ran under the car, but didn’t get hit. Then he ran up a tree. I was astonished. By the grace of God, both times the squirrel was under the car and not hit.

    1. Honestly VK I have been racking my brain as to the why behind it!! I looked as this website that you sent and some of the pieces were fitting together.
But the hawk has been my spirit animal for as long as I have been in recovery…it’s a messenger. So he dropped the squirrel in front of me…and your website helped me find out the meaning and traits of the squirrel- so thank you my friend!

    1. I think the hawk was trying to kill the squirrel in the tree and the branch broke right over my head forcing the hawk to fly down and drop the little fella right at my feet!! It was a wild sequence of events!❤️❤️
